Many of you know I am a Birmingham native, but what you may not know is that I grew up in the suburb of Hoover. When most people think of Hoover, AL they typically aren’t saying “Wow! What a great food destination.” We are historically not known for our edgy food scene, but rather, by our football program. Hoover, AL managed to make a footprint in the South by being exceptionally good at football. So good in fact, that MTV gave us our own reality show called Two-a-Days. Ahhh… good times!
Hoover is such a great place to raise a family, and with new developments popping all over western Hoover, it’s drawing in bigger and better food establishments. We had the chance to visit one of Hoover’s newest restaurant residents this week, and I could not be more excited to share them with you.
If you’ve been following us on Instagram, then you know my parents in the process of moving. This Summer, they moved out of my childhood home and began building a home in Lake Wilborn. I had no idea how just how quickly I would be able to fall in love with a new area of town!
Tre Luna Bar & Kitchen in Hoover, AL
The Village at Brocks Gap
At the intersection of Brock’s Gap and Stadium Trace is a brand new shopping/entertainment center that is already housing a TON of notable businesses. One of the more exciting additions is Tre Luna Bar & Kitchen. This new restaurant in Hoover is an Italian concept eatery that was designed to offer an upscale dining experience with a neighborhood feel.
This location in Hoover is new for Tre Luna, but they are far from rookies in the Birmingham food scene. Tre Luna also has a bustling catering business that services and accommodates weddings, corporate events, etc. You might know them for their famous white chocolate bread pudding, and if you don’t, you soon will.
When we arrived, I was immediately drawn to the interior styling and decor. They did an amazing job of creating texture in the wide-open space with a wooden accent wall, and throw pillows in their booths. This small styling detail makes the restaurant feel so relaxed and homey.

For dress and attire, I really love a restaurant where you can blur the lines a bit. You can do that here.
Tre Luna is definitely upscale enough for an anniversary or special occasion dinner where a dress and sports coat would be suitable. It’s also laid back enough for you to wear nice jeans and a top. Take advantage of their outdoor patio area this Fall before the temperature starts to drop.
Pictured // I’m wearing my favorite black skinny jeans from Madewell. For ladies who are bigger in the hips and thighs and smaller around the waist, you should try their “Curvy” fit (which I’m wearing). They run true to size, and depending on how you like jeans to fit, you might consider sizing down. I wear these to work, and they transition so well into the night. Shop this look below:
