In all honesty it’s hard for me to resist a nacho, or any chip in general, but I try! Last year when I met Deanna, I started becoming more carb conscious because it is one of the main focuses on her blog, Well and Worthy Life. It’s important to have those friends around who help keep you in check to eat healthy and maintain fitness goals, especially around the holidays. This season, she and I have partnered to share some great low-carb appetizers to serve at your next gathering!
A Low Carb Christmas
Last year, I gave you all the tips you needed to pull off a holiday party in a snap (“pre-made” was my middle name). This year, Deanna has challenged me to create some low-carb recipes, and I’m excited to bring you three appetizers that are not only healthy, but delicious and beautiful as well.
Here are 3 low-carb appetizer recipes to consider making this holiday!
If you’ve visited Deanna’s wellness blog, she addresses ketogenic diets, as well as carb-cycling. Even if you don’t follow a certain diet routine, some of your fellow party-goers might, so it’s always nice to have options for those watching their weight, sugar intake, or those who have other dietary restrictions. Here are three low-carb appetizer recipes to please any crowd this holiday season!
Asian Meatball Poppers
This Asian meatball recipe makes for an amazing appetizer that your guests are surely to love. You can use pork or turkey for your protein. I then added some shaved radish on the bottom for a pop of color. You can also adorn a snap pea on top and then skewer with a toothpick; delicious and festive!
Holiday Cheese Ball Wreath with Low-Carb Crackers
Take this classic cheese ball recipe and mold into a wreath for more festive snacking at your holiday party. This is always a hit when served with red pepper jelly and a sturdy cracker. We love these multi-grain gluten free crackers from Crunch Master! Find full recipe here.
Cucumber and Smoked Salmon Bites with Whipped Dill Topping
One of my favorite things is bagel and lox. This smoked salmon appetizer is low calorie and low carb! Find the recipe for the whipped dill topping I used from AllRecipes here.
Love these recipes, Meredith!!!! Going to make them all!!!! XoXo
You are the absolute sweetest! Let’s plan a cooking day soon!
