Skinny Rum Drinks
There is no denying that rum tastes amazing with just about any sugar-filled substance. One of my personal favorite rum cocktails has got to be a pina colada! Coming in at a close second is the mojito.

Southern Source Side Note:
The best rum to use when making a classic mojito is silver or (white) rum. It is clear in color and has a sweeter, milder flavor, as opposed to your darker or spiced rums, which are aged in barrels.
Some of my favorite white rums to use in mojito recipes are:
- Castillo Silver Rum (made by Bacardi, but cheaper and just as good)
- Cruzan
- 10 Cane
- Mount Gay

In most of my other cocktail recipes, you’ll find simple syrup as one of the main ingredients. It’s really fun to get creative with infusing the syrups with different flavors, but as you know it’s all sugar! The main thing you want to stay away from on a keto diet is carbs and sugar, so instead of using a simple syrup in this skinny mojito, we’ll be replacing the sugary component with Stevia.
Skinny Cocktails Made with Stevia
Stevia is a sugar substitute, and unlike other sugar replacements, it is derived from a plant. Stevia is about 100 to 300 times sweeter than sugar but has no carbohydrates, calories, or artificial ingredients. I would be lying if I said it tasted the same as cane sugar; it has a slightly different taste, but definitely worth trying if you are planning to follow a keto or low-sugar diet!

Easy Mojito Recipe and Ingredients

Skinny Mojito Recipe
Ingredients
- 6-10 fresh mint leaves
- 3/4 oz fresh lime juice
- 1.5 oz white rum
- 2 drops Stevia sweetener
- Club Soda Lime flavor (optional)
Instructions

In a shaker, lightly muddle the mint, lime, and stevia

Add the rum, and fill with ice

Shake well and pour (unstrained) into a highball glass.

Top with the club soda and garnish with a mint sprig and lime wedge
