Can you think of a better way to spend a birthday weekend, than swimming in a pool of sprinkles? I can’t!
Birthday Weekend in Miami, FL
This weekend we flew down to Miami to spend time celebrating my sister’s 30th birthday, and we wanted to make sure everything was larger than life. A few days before our trip, I was on Instagram and saw a Miami blogger posted a photo from something called the Museum of Ice Cream… Intrigued I sifted through her photos and immediately called my sister to tell her our plans to visit this interactive food museum. I had seen pictures of other bloggers and celebrities in some magical sprinkle pool, but I didn’t think I’d ever be able to experience one because it seemed so L.A.
Museum of Ice Cream
Turns out, the Museum of Ice Cream is a traveling pop-up exhibit that may be coming to a city near you! Their most recent pop-ups (which are ending soon) were short residents of Miami and San Fransisco. They typically stay in cities for 2 months, and they seem to be quite tight-lipped at keeping future locations a secret so you’ll want to sign up for their email list to stay in the know on their whereabouts.
Where to Visit the Museum of Ice Cream
Let me be clear, The Museum of Ice Cream is not your typical museum. No stopping and reading endless facts about ice cream; although there are a few; no, this place is all about fantasy and FUN!!! When you first come in your ice cream psychic reads your fortune. From there you are guided into the pool of sprinkles. Age is not a factor on “swimming” around in a pool of sprinkles. It definitely brings out your inner child. This is the only area where your fun is timed, as who wouldn’t want to do that all day!
As you make your way through the rest of the museum your visual sensors will be delighted, along with your taste buds. Ice cream samples of all kinda are offered throughout the tour and they are included in the ticket price.
If pink is your favorite color, you are in luck. If Disney’s “Fantasia” and ice cream had a baby, it would be The Museum of Ice Cream!!
