I read something recently that made a whole lot of sense… it was a social media post proclaiming that moms invented iced coffee! Can you get behind this?
I believe it! I am quickly discovering just days into motherhood that between wakings, feedings, playtime, and daily house chores there’s no possible way to keep coffee hot for hours on end. But this is completely fine with me because I am obsessed with iced coffees, more specifically lattes and even more specifically oat milk lattes! Luckily, there’s a Califia Oatmilk for that.
I was first introduced to oat milk a few years ago by a trendy friend of mine and I have not looked back. I am now fully on the non-dairy coffee train. Have you hopped on yet?
Oatmilk has been a great swap for me. I truly enjoy the taste of oatmilk over dairy milk. It has a unique nutty and wholesome taste that I just can’t get enough of. If you struggle with a dairy intolerance or are wanting to decrease your carbon footprint, oatmilk could be a great swap for you too! Read on to discover all the many ways you can use oatmilk in your daily recipes and routines.
Today, I’m going to walk you through how I make a delicious vanilla iced oat milk latte using Califia Vanilla Oatmilk! In just three simple steps, you’ll be enjoying a craft coffee drink at home!
BONUS: Save $1 on Califia Farms Oatmilk products at Publix from 6/5 to 6/30
Step 1: Add large ice cubes (these don’t melt as quickly as standard refrigerator ice which is great because you don’t want a watered-down iced latte!)
Step 2: Brew your desired amount of espresso
Step 3: Top with Califia Vanilla Oatmilk
Lastly, insert your favorite reusable straw and enjoy!
TIP: To keep your iced coffee colder even longer, use an insulated cup!
Since I now keep Califia Oat Milk stocked in my fridge, I’ve found so many other uses for it besides just making iced lattes. Turns out, you can use oatmilk in so many different ways and substitute it out in any recipe that traditionally uses dairy!
Oatmilk is naturally rich and creamy, making it a super smooth swap with dairy milk. So, you can make anything you want deliciously dairy-free. Here are some ideas: Pancakes, super smoothies, afternoon iced coffees, etc.
I love using Califia Oatmilk in my Chocolate Nut Butter & Banana Smoothie. It takes smoothies up a notch and allows you to get that super creamy texture you’re looking for! Get the recipe for one of my superfood smoothies here!
Another recipe I enjoy using oatmilk in is a dairy-free “Brownie Batter” I found on TikTok. It seriously tastes so much like real brownie batter it’s insane! Here’s how to make it:
Makes 1-2 Servings
Healthy “Brownie Batter”
1/3 cup of oats
2.5 TBSP cacao powder
1 TBSP flax seed
3 TBSP maple syrup
1/4 cup Califia Oatmilk
Method: Add all ingredients into a small blender or food processor and blend for 30 seconds.
That’s it! I enjoy eating this by the spoonful, or adding to a piece of toast!
