The holidays are the best time to celebrate old traditions, or start new ones. For as long as I can remember, my Mom has hosted a Christmas Day Brunch at her house for neighbors and friends. It’s a tradition we’ve kept alive for nearly 20 years and counting! This year we are continuing the tradition in my parent’s new home.
We always have the most delicious breakfast foods like sausage breakfast casserole, hashbrown potato casserole, a scrumptious cheese ring, pastries, and more. This brunch event takes place all day, so there’s no better way to kick off the gathering than with a festive cocktail. At the bar we always have Mimosas and Bloody Mary’s, and this year I’m excited to add a new libation into the mix!
Wake up this holiday with an Irish Coffee using Red Diamond. Get the recipe below.
Irish Coffee Recipe with Red Diamond
If your house is anything like ours, Christmas Eve dinner usually turns into a late night. It’s so easy to get carried away in good conversation with loved ones; especially when the wine is flowing. As I’ve grown older and the gifts from Santa no longer send me rushing down the stairs, I’ve learned that food and tasty beverages are some of the best gifts.
This Christmas morning you will find me dashing to the bar to make this delicious Irish coffee!
The key to the base of this cocktail is starting with a quality flavorful coffee. We use Red Diamond coffee at our house because it has such a rich flavor that layers so well in an Irish coffee. Red Diamond has been perfecting their craft since 1906 and while perfect’s not easy, they’ve certainly gotten close by choosing hand-picked beans and slowly roasting them using techniques handed down through the family for five generations.
While coffee is the star in this drink recipe, we can’t forget what gives it the punch! Add your favorite Irish whiskey, coffee liqueur, and whipped cream with caramel drizzle to have the perfect Christmas morning cocktail!
