This August, I was invited to an intimate Sunday gathering at 1818 Farms in Mooresville, AL. I am so happy for The Southern Source blog to be included in the list of attendees. We were joined by other Southern makers such as magazine publications, wedding event planners, photostylists, florists, food editors, etc. Mooresville is right outside of Huntsville, AL and is a small town were 1818 Farms resides.
About 1818 Farms in Mooresville, AL
Even though Mooresville only holds a population of 58 people, you will be shocked to know the history behind it and the beauty within it. It is filled with historic locations including Andrew Jackson’s 19th century home. The town was even established before the state of Alabama was.
Looking into the present, Mooresville is home to miles of farmland, including 1818 Farms. This farm provides love to so many adorable animals we were so lucky to meet including babydoll southdown sheep, mini pigs, great Pyrenees guardian dogs, and more. Their stories of finding them include adoption, giving friends, and even Craigslist! This is a wonderful place to take family photos! To inquire about on-site photography, click here.
Not only do they have animals, but they also have fields full of over 5000 flowers. They sell some of these flowers on the back of a baby blue 1965 Ford F100 for different events around North Alabama. Check their weekly travel schedule here.
1818 Farms isn’t your typical farmstead. They host informative classes that cover topics like flower arranging, wreath making and raising chickens. On top of classes, they hold events like “Dinner by the Blooms”, “The Art of the Party”, and more! It is suggested to sign up for the mailing list for these events because seats are limited and sell out quick (but who is surprised… this place is awesome)!
To end this lovely day, they sent us home with a big bouquet of flowers, and a handful of their homemade beauty & home products. Currently, I am loving their Counting Sheep Linen & Room Spray and living for their cuticle balm. Shop more of their homemade products online!
