Drinks and Recipes from Taylor Swift’s Reputation Album
Last week, Taylor Swift dropped her sixth album, reputation, and with it has flipped the script on her entire image. The old Taylor is definitely dead, y’all. Lucky for us, New Taylor is every bit as talented and seemingly a lot more fun. Think less teardrops, and a lot more wine spilling on that guitar of hers these days.
The general topic of alcohol is mentioned nine out of the fifteen songs included on the album. Not only does Taylor sing about her libations, she names specific drinks in these songs, which got me thinking…
Should we make this into a drinking game while listening to the entire album?
Nah, we better not. Mixing all these different types of liquors, wines, and beers into one night, might start having an effect on your Reputation.
…Ready For It? (#1)
End Game (#2)
Anything at a dive bar
“But you can make me a drink / Dive bar on the East Side, where you at?”
“Whiskey on ice, Sunset and Vine / You’ve ruined my life by not being mine”
Getaway Car (#9)
“I knew it from the first old fashioned, we were cursed”
King of My Heart (#10)
Beer in a plastic cup
“With all these nights we’re spending / Up on the roof with a school girl crush / drinking beer out of plastic cups /
“I’m spilling wine in the bathtub / you kiss my face and we’re both drunk”
This is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things (#13)
“Jump into the pool from the balcony / everybody swimming in a champagne sea”
“Feeling so Gatsby for that whole year”
If you’re a fan of the new album, I have found some underground videos of the making of some of the songs. You can find them on this Reputation Playlist.
