TURN UP the Flavor of Your Deviled Eggs with BACON
Amp up the Classic Deviled Eggs recipe by adding some bacon on top. Adding bacon to anything just takes it over the top, and the deviled eggs are no exception to this rule. When you add bacon to this deviled egg recipe, you might just consider it breakfast and shovel in a few of these on your way out the door! Seriously, that’s not a bad idea…
Baking Bacon is the way to go for this recipe. You can throw it on a sheet pan and set it in the oven for 15-20 minutes and achieve the perfect crispy bacon without all the mess.
Southern Source Side Note:
Bake Bacon at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes. You don’t have to wait for the oven to preheat to full temperature. It actually helps to let the bacon heat up with the oven. This helps to not shock the meat, which can cause it to shrink up.
Crispy Shallots
These little onions add the perfect pop of flavor to the classic deviled egg. Simply slice up the shallot and toss in all-purpose flour. Coat a skillet with vegetable oil and turn to medium-high heat. Throw a little flour into the pan to see if the oil is hot enough. If it sizzles, you’re ready.
Let shallots cook for about 2 minutes and remove with slotted spoon and place on paper towel to dry.
