Our Next Big Chapter + The Moving Service That Saved My Sanity

I’ve been sitting on this news for way too long, and I’m beyond excited to finally share—we’re moving! (Again!) But this time? It feels different. It feels permanent. It feels like the next big chapter we’ve been working toward for years, and I couldn’t be happier to say it out loud.

Let me back up and give you a little backstory. Just over two years ago, I took a huge leap of faith and left my corporate job to pursue The Southern Source full-time. Three weeks later, my husband unexpectedly lost his job. Definitely not part of the plan. One of the biggest? Selling our beautiful new construction home and downsizing into a 1970s fixer-upper. It wasn’t easy, but that house turned out to be a blessing in disguise. It allowed me to stretch my design skills, document every step of the transformation, and even pursue new real estate dreams—like investing in a short-term lake rental.

That season taught us so much. Every challenge and every renovation project brought us closer to our goals. But now, it’s time for a new chapter.

We are beyond grateful for the memories made in that house, but we’re also ready to move on—and I’m so excited to bring you along for every step of this journey!

As many of you know, I’m real estate obsessed. I spent over eight years working in the luxury home industry before going full-time with The Southern Source. So when people ask, “How long have you been looking to move?” the answer is simple: I’m always looking.

I casually mentioned a house for sale just around the corner, and she said, “Let’s go drive by.” We did—and I was in love the second we pulled up. Corner lot. Circular driveway. Classic, stately brick. It was vacant, so naturally we peeped through the windows (lol) and I immediately called my realtor friend.

Long story short? We walked in. We fell in love. We made an offer that day.

Since then, it’s been a whirlwind. We prepped our current house, got it under contract in just three days, and this week, we closed on BOTH homes. We officially have the keys to our new place!
