Are Your Avocados “Guacamole Ready”?
Southern Source Side Note:
Never commit to making guacamole before going to the store and checking out the produce.
The key to making perfect guacamole every-single-time is making sure that your avocados are ripe and ready. Many of you may already know the trick to finding the best avocados, but here’s a little reminder:
How to Tell if Avocados are Ready
If they are too brown or too green, the guacamole is a no-go! If the avocado is too green, the flavor is off and you won’t be able to mash them up to get the right consistency. If the avocado is too brown, you’ll open it up to see bruising and the avocado will have a sour taste. Hey, sometimes the gauc just isn’t in the books, but when it is… it’s always a major HIT!
