New Orleans Food Guide
I am SO excited about this New Orleans Food Guide!! First of all, I seriously cannot believe how amazing our little community has grown on Instagram! I’m not particularly talking about numbers, but I’m more talking how much fun it’s been share knowledge with each other and have fun conversations about the things we all love like: wine, food, and travel!

You can read more about the places were we able to visit, in my 36-Hour Guide to New Orleans.

Great list! Nice that you didn’t list all the typical spots even tho The Court of Two Sisters is one of my fav brunch places!

Thanks Shannon! My Instagram followers gave most of these suggestions before I went. Obviously couldn’t hit them all in two days but I’ll have to add your rec to my list for next time!

I have never been to New Orleans but many of my family members have and they all loved the food. I can’t wait to explore it for myself!
thesouthernsource says
Kate, I have a shrimp and grits recipe that I’m dying to photograph and post to the blog. It’s stick to your ribs, just like all the amazing food in New Orleans.
Marcie says
My husband and I were JUST talking about heading to New Orleans for a kid-free getaway. These food options sound amazing!
thesouthernsource says
Marcie, that sounds like fun! No kids for us yet (still newlyweds), so we try and travel often before kiddos. You and your hubs deserve a fun getaway and NOLA is the best!

Definitely bookmarking this page! I visit new Orleans at least twice a year because I have family there… but I’ll be honest I rarely branch out with restaurants. Will definitely be referencing this on my next trip that I have coming up in June.
Have you tried the Spotted Cat Food and Spirits? Great brunch. Be sure to try if you have not already.
thesouthernsource says
Hey Lauren! That’s awesome that you have family there. Always nice to have a free place to stay! I’ll have to look out for Spotted Cat next time we go. Thanks for the rec!

I really want to visit New Orleans! This post makes me want to visit even more…

You totally should! After you realize that there is more out there than Bourbon Street, your options become endless!

New Orleans has been on my list for far too long! I need to get myself there, and this is a great guide to have on hand!
thesouthernsource says
Patricia, where are you from? Is it a long drive/flight? It’s definitely worth it for the food alone, but the Southern culture is so charming here!

I had such a great time in New Orleans last November. I would have loved to have had this fabulous list of places to eat. I did try Emeril’s restaurant while we were there. It’s a city full of wonderful choices!
thesouthernsource says
Dena, it is full of color, which I love! We walked by Emeril’s place and I really wanted to go. Maybe next time 🙂
